Grounding to Reduce Dizziness

"Grounding" is a powerful tool for managing symptoms of dizziness. Grounding refers to increasing somatosensory input (the sensation from your body, skin, joints, muscles, etc.) to improve body awareness. It can help your body determine where it is in space and correctly orient itself when sensory input from your vestibular or visual systems are conflicting or inaccurate.  It can also help to calm or regulate your nervous system.

Grounding is a common strategy used for symptom management and reduction in vestibular rehabilitation programs. This resource will provide an overview of grounding, as well as my favorite grounding strategies/ tools.
